Electricity Production Goes Up in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 9 (KCNA) -- Employees of the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex in the DPRK strive to boost production in the spirit that they fulfilled the plan for May, true to the resolutions made at the plenary meetings of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The complex has conducted political and ideological work to arouse its employees to attaining the goal for this year, tightened discipline in planning and pushed ahead with economic operation and command.

It has introduced new scientific and technological achievements in close cooperation with scientific research institutes, regarding the implementation of the readjustment and reinforcement strategy as the main line and directed efforts to raising the efficiency of existing generating equipment and increasing the number of working days by relying on its own technical force.

Its supply service base has been consolidated to improve the living conditions of employees and encourage their enthusiasm for production.

The complex introduced new technology of firing oxygen-pulverized coal into boilers and improved the control part of automatic excitation regulator of generator to further consolidate the material and technical foundation. -0-
