People's Art Festival to Be Held in DPRK

Pyongyang, January 31 (KCNA) -- The Third People's Art Festival for Celebrating February 16 will be held in Pyongyang and other parts of the DPRK.

The festival marking the 84th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il is a grand political and artistic festival of best wishes for immortality and praise for the great man. It will show the unshakable will and noble moral obligation of all the people to convey forever the noble revolutionary career and exploits of the Chairman, who devoted his whole life to the country and the people, and remain single-mindedly faithful to the leadership of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to usher in the era of the overall prosperity of Korean-style socialism more dynamically and courageously.

The festival is to be held at theatres and halls in the capital city and other parts of the country, including the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre and the Hamhung Grand Theatre, from Feb. 13 to 18, divided into categories of mobile artistic motivation teams and art groups.

The festival venues will resound with hymns to the leader reflecting the thoughts and feelings of all the people as well as songs in praise of the vibrant era.

It will bring together excellent organizations selected from all regions and units. -0-
