Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- Measures are taken in different regions of the DPRK to supply enough irrigation water for the immediate spring farming process including rice-transplanting.

North Phyongan Province is directing main efforts to the maintenance of the Paekma-Cholsan Waterway and the Thaechon Power Station No. 5-Unjon, Jongju and Kwaksan Waterway, while making effective use of the water secured in reservoirs.

North Hwanghae Province drew up its daily water supply plan after grasping the state of waterway, water discharge and preparations for rice-transplanting and made sure that the secured water is used as efficiently as possible.

South Hamgyong Province is taking measures to supply irrigation water while watering paddy fields as much as possible and controlling reservoir water effectively.

Other regions are also directing efforts to the supply of irrigation water for the countryside in time, after acquainting themselves with the secured reservoir water and the water flow state in irrigation waterways. -0-
