Construction of New Coal Mines and Pits Accelerated in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- The coal-mining industry of the DPRK is putting spurs to the construction of new coal mines and pits to satisfy the growing demand for coal, according to Rodong Sinmun.

The Ministry of Coal Industry worked out a plan and an action program to finish their construction step by step on the basis of analysis of the successes, experience and lessons made in the past five years.

The Kaechon Area Coal-mining Complex made a realistic plan to construct the Samrok Coal Mine during the new five-year plan. The complex is now striving to carry it into practice while impressing the masses with the importance of its construction to raise their enthusiasm.

The construction of a new coal mine and pit is also progressing apace at the Myongchon Area Coal Mining Complex.

The Kukdong Coal Mine is introducing various valuable technical innovations and rational work methods to kindle the flames for creating new standards and new records at worksites. Pit No. 1 of the Ryongban Coal Mine is making remarkable progress in tunneling of slope pit and capital tunneling, giving full play to the collectivist trait of a shift helping the other.

The Thaesan Coal Mine and Youth Pit No. 2 of the Ryongbuk Youth Coal Mine under the Kyongwon Area Coal-mining Complex and the Youth Pit at the Phunggok Youth Coal Mine under the Pukchang Area Youth Coal-mining Complex, too, are making collective innovations to provide favorable working conditions. -0-
