Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- According to Rodong Sinmun, the grain administration sector of the DPRK has built new wheat-processing bases and modernized the existing ones now that wheat production increases every year.

Wheat-processing factories with a large capacity were newly built in Kangryong and Singye counties suited to the cultivation of wheat, and similar bases in South Hwanghae Province, Nampho Municipality, North Hwanghae Province and South Hamgyong Province were modernized.

New wheat-processing lines were established at the grain management stations in Sariwon City and other cities and counties to raise the wheat-processing capacity more than two times.

The variety of wheat products is being increased.

The Unchon County Foodstuff Factory raised the variety of wheat products more than four times as compared with the first period of operation, and the Kyongsong County Foodstuff Factory expanded the variety of wheat products, including bread, in a matter of one year.

The Kumya County Foodstuff Factory and other regional-industry factories have made substantial progress by directing efforts to the development of new products to meet the daily-growing demand for wheat products. -0-
