Anniversary of Law of DPRK on Nursing and Upbringing of Children Marked

Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- 50 years have passed since the Law of the DPRK on the Nursing and Upbringing of Children was adopted on April 29, 1976.

The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un set it as the most important policy and the greatest desire of the Workers' Party of Korea and the state to bring up the children, the future of the country, well and ensure better conditions for rearing them, and devoted his all to its realization.

He initiated the construction of a modern children's hospital in the Munsu area on the bank of the River Taedong, led it to be completed at the highest level and named the hospital "Okryu Children's Hospital".

Thanks to his loving care, wonderful baby homes and orphanages were built in different parts of the country, including the Pyongyang Baby Home and Orphanage, and model kindergartens such as the Kyongsang Kindergarten were erected.

Even in those days when the emergency anti-epidemic crisis was created unexpectedly, transportation of milk and rice powder for babies by vehicles was not suspended in every part of the country.

The contents and methods of pre-school education have been improved and strengthened in keeping with the requirements of bringing about a radical improvement in education in the new century and the trend of the development of the world's education, and all the kindergartens across the country have been turned into excellent educational institutions, institutions of nursing and upbringing children and cradles of happiness.

The new childcare policy of supplying dairy products and other nutritious foods to the children across the country at the state expense reflects the Party's intention to provide them with the most wonderful and best things.

The happy songs of the children are resounding far and wide under the care of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who takes great pleasure in hearing the bright laughter of the children. -0-
