KPA Founding Anniversary Celebrated in DPRK

Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- All the people across the DPRK significantly celebrated the 77th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA).

The masses entered the plaza park of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state, and looked back upon their revolutionary careers.

Officials, working people, service personnel, youth and students visited the statues of the great leaders and mosaics depicting their images on Mansu Hill and in different parts of the country, laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before paying tribute to them.

At the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, working people, youth and students recollected the fighting spirit of the victorious wartime generation who created the history of heroic war victory under the guidance of the President.

Many people visited the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery.

The national flags fluttered at major places in Pyongyang and provincial, city and county seats and institutions, enterprises, factories and farms across the country, and visual aids were displayed to rev up the festive mood.

Art performances were given at theatres and different places of the capital city and different parts of the country.

Public catering establishments in Pyongyang and different parts of the country, the Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum, the Munsu Water Park and other cultural and emotional life bases were crowded with working people. The spectacular nocturnal electric light decoration in different parts of the capital city including Songhwa, Hwasong, Rimhung and Jonwi streets added to the pleasure of the people. -0-
