Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- The Eighth Congress of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea is to be held in Pyongyang in mid-July 2026.

The 15th Plenary Meeting of the Seventh Central Committee of the SWUK decided to convene the Eighth Congress of the SWUK in order to conduct the union work more vigorously, holding high the idea and spirit of the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea as a banner of struggle and advance.

The congress will serve as a turning point in preparing all the women's union officials and members to be genuine women revolutionaries, ardent patriots and communist mothers and bringing about a fresh improvement in the union work by creditably carrying forward the tradition of loyalty and patriotism of the Korean women's movement. -0-
