Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- Preparations for paddy-field fish breeding are being pushed forward across the DPRK.
South Phyongan Province organized a video show and video conference and sent officials to farms to confirm the area of paddy-field fishing breeding through a field survey with relevant members of cities and counties.
This year, it held a passing-on-technique meeting under the plan of building mud snail breeding grounds at farms and workteams planning to conduct paddy-field fish breeding.
The Samjigang Farm in Jaeryong County, the Township Farm in Thaethan County and many other farms in South Hwanghae Province, which are working hard to build breed-fish grounds, established foundations for producing catfish fries by themselves and are increasing their survival rate while ensuring appropriate water temperature and supply of protein feed.
Kangwon Province selected right places for paddy-field fish breeding, considering the water resources and water quality, pollution in the surrounding area, watering and drainage, and is paying attention to the production of catfish fries.
North Hamgyong Province is introducing advanced hatching methods to secure breed-fish and establishing foundations for increasing the production of fish fodder and non-cereal feed.
South Hamgyong Province and Nampho Municipality take measures to expand paddy-field fish breeding. -0-
