Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- Ryanggang Province of the DPRK is concentrating its efforts on potato planting.

The Hunggyesu Farm in Samjiyon City has over-fulfilled its daily plan by organizing manpower rationally while raising the utility rate of farm machines.

Junghung, Thongsin and Poso farms are increasing the area sown with potato while giving priority to selecting seed potatoes and spreading manure in keeping with the requirements of technical regulations.

Tractor drivers and potato planter operators in Taehongdan County are making successes by strengthening the cooperation between shifts and ensuring full-capacity operation of farm machines.

The farms in Kapsan and Samsu counties are ensuring the quality and speed of their work while giving precedence to ploughing many sloping fields.

The farms in Paekam County are taking measures to protect the seeds from frost damage in spring and moisture damage in summer. Unhung and Pochon counties are registering high results in potato planting.

Meanwhile, the province is pushing ahead with the work to increase the amount of water resources and sufficiently water the fields by mobilizing all vehicles and mobile irrigation equipment. -0-
