Work for Further Strengthening Regional Construction Forces Hastened in DPRK

Pyongyang, February 1 (KCNA) -- This year, too, officials and working people throughout the DPRK are making full preparations for the construction of rural houses, true to the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea which set the housing construction as the first major policy task.

Officials in charge of rural housing construction across the country are taking effective measures to help cities and counties make good use of the experience gained in the course of strengthening the construction forces and overcome the revealed deviations.

Pyongyang City and North Hamgyong Province are directing big efforts to strengthening the construction forces and conducting the work in a purposeful way.

South Hwanghae Province has steadily pushed ahead with the work to build up the construction guidance force and train new workers.

South Phyongan Province has pushed ahead with the work to recruit manpower, provide construction equipment and organize a course for skilled builders, and other provinces have strengthened the construction forces both in quality and quantity.

Meanwhile, the work to consolidate the foundation for producing building materials is under way.

South Hamgyong Province is stepping up the technical upgrading of equipment and taking thorough measures to supply raw materials to ensure the production of tiles without interruption, and paying attention to recycling waste materials to produce various kinds of building materials.

North Hwanghae Province has directed a stubborn effort to increasing the production capacity of sanitary wares and made preparations for establishing the tile production process in a far-sighted way.

North Phyongan Province directs primary effort to the work for readjusting and reinforcing the building-materials production processes and Nampho City is boosting the quality of building materials.

Kangwon Province is producing new building materials based on locally available raw materials by mobilizing technical forces, and taking a step to put the production on a normal basis at building-materials production units. -0-
