Fatherland Liberation War Historic Site

Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- The Fatherland Liberation War Historic Site is the sacred place of victory associated with the undying feats of President Kim Il Sung who brought about victory on this land, shattering the myth of the "mightiness" of the U.S. imperialists with his outstanding military idea, rare commanding art, matchless courage and pluck.

From January 1951 to the end of the war, the President set it as the Supreme Headquarters of the Korean People's Army for two years and seven months.

Until the early 1950s, many people did not know about the site, and the site was marked as only a small dot on the map.

The operation room of the Supreme Headquarters was a small and simple half-underground room.

In this small operation room, the President visualized operational plans for winning victory in the war and created many Juche-oriented tactics including the tank-hunting team movement. He guided more than 200 major meetings, wrote the report to the Fifth Plenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and other famous works and aroused all the people to the struggle for winning victory in the war.

On June 8, 2015, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Fatherland Liberation War Historic Site and said that the President led the war to victory while staying in such dangerous place and there is no example in the world history of wars.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un stressed that the Fatherland Liberation War Historic Site is the sacred place associated with the exploits performed by the President in winning victory in the war and the place in which the first victory was won in the war against the U.S. -0-
