Progress Made in Fishing Sector

Pyongyang, May 10 (KCNA) -- The fishing sector of the DPRK boosts the production of aquatic products while consolidating its material and technical foundations.

This year, hundreds of fishing boats have been repaired and fishing gear overhauled throughout the Ministry of Fisheries.

The Mundok Fishery Station is increasing fish hauls by proactively creating conditions favorable for fishing.

Kamapho and Unjon fishery stations have raised the haul of fish per netting through active fishing in combination of dispersion and concentration while conducting socialist emulation among units.

The Chongjin feed supply fishery station for the central zoo has conducted an intensive fishing campaign in the main fishing grounds after capturing the sea conditions and the motion of shoals through analysis based on satellite information data and scientific fishing detection.

Pupho and Ongjin offshore farms and the Kumipho Fishery Station are turning out a large amount of kelp through the scientific cultivation.

The Wonsan Marine Product Processing Station and the Songdowon Fishery Station are registering high results in the production of mussel.

Fishery stations and offices for stocking rivers with fishes under the Sinpho Distant-Sea Fishery Complex released millions of fry including flat-fish and salmon into the sea. -0-
