Support for Regional Universities Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The educational sector of the DPRK is striving to reduce the gap between the educational levels in Pyongyang and regional areas.

The Ministry of Education is intensifying its guidance and assistance concerning the education at provincial universities, aiming at developing and introducing advanced teaching forms and methods and educational techniques and increasing the proportion of practical education.

Teachers of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang University of Architecture, University of Sciences, Pyongyang University of Medicine and Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies went to universities in Kangwon and North Phyongan provinces to help them in their development, while giving practical training and conducting academic exchange on technological issues arising in various fields. They also engaged in setting examples in the application of research-oriented teaching method and research-based study method.

They hosted shows on good educational experiences gained by universities in South Hamgyong, North Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces. -0-
