Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- The State Commission of Science and Technology in the DPRK strives to update the talent management system, according to Rodong Sinmun.

The commission has taken practical measures to realize the state's unified control and management over sci-tech talents by establishing the proper system and order.

It is discussing the practical matters to find out those possessed of high application ability and technical skills and make them display their scientific and technological qualifications and abilities. It is also drawing up and issuing relevant guides by itemizing and concretizing the method of talent management.

The commission is strengthening guidance and assistance so that provinces, cities and counties reinforce their own sci-tech forces in conformity with their regional characteristics.

Meanwhile, measures are being taken to mobilize sci-tech talents of excellent scientific research units in the development of key industrial sectors, the latest scientific research, the construction projects for regional development policy and the sustained growth of the agricultural productivity.

The commission is also studying the ways to treat the talents preferentially while providing them with better working and living conditions so that they can play leading and core roles in sci-tech activities.

The work of concretizing the relevant items in a realistic and way is being done through collective discussion in order to ensure the effectiveness in developing new technologies. -0-
