Power Saving Brisk in Metal Industry

Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The metal industry is making big efforts for saving power.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex has installed local switches at dozens of places in the first half of the year and introduced capacitors into power equipment.

The Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex, which is directing efforts to ensuring the trial operation of the new energy-saving oxygen heat blast furnace, has taken measures to repair the electric lines in a planned way and eliminate the waste of electricity.

Similar successes are witnessed in the Chollima Steel Complex, the Puryong Ferroalloy Factory, the Chongjin Steel Plant, Jangsan Mine and Ramjong Mine. -0-
