Pyongyang, April 22 (KCNA) -- Following are major news items and articles in leading newspapers of the DPRK on Wednesday:

- A delegation of Korean commercial workers in Japan laid a flower basket at the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill.

- Successes are being made in different units and parts of the country.

- Talks were held between the DPRK minister of Public Security and Russia's minister of Interior.

- Meetings were held at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and the Chongjin Steel Plant to mark their 80th founding anniversaries.

- Receptions were given at the DPRK missions abroad to mark the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

- Delegations of Korean residents in Japan arrived here.
