Korean-style Socialism

Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- Socialism centered on the masses is the greatest patriotic legacy handed down by President Kim Il Sung to our people.

Born in a thatched house of Mangyongdae, Kim Il Sung witnessed the misery of the people in his childhood, and cherished a great ambition to build a new society free from the exploiting class. He made a firm resolution to build at any cost a world where the working people lead their happy life in view of his experience of unfair and contradictory social phenomena in the days of his early revolutionary activities.

On the historic day when the Korean revolution weighed the anchor under the banner of the Down-with-Imperialism Union, he set it as the goal of the revolution to liberate Korea and build socialism and communism on the land where the independence of the masses are fully realized.

In the days of conducting the anti-Japanese armed struggle and carrying out the democratic revolution after the liberation of Korea, the President thought again and again what kind of socialism should be built in our country in the future and what direction and principle should be adhered to in the cause of socialist construction.

He was sure that socialism to be built in our country should be a socialism in which the masses become the masters of everything from A to Z and everything in society serves the masses.

In the mid-1950s after the war, the dogmatists advanced the "theory of prematurity" of socialist transformation, saying that it was impossible to transform the relations of production without socialist industrialization.

In April 1955, Kim Il Sung made public the historic theses on the character and tasks of our revolution, clarifying the stand of independence to pave the way for socialism by our own efforts.

In August 1958, the socialist transformation of the relations of production was completed and the socialist revolution triumphed in our country under the original line of the President. Thus the socialist system centred on the masses was established.

The Korean-style socialism centered on the masses, handed down by the President as a legacy, is the lifeblood, life and unshakable faith of the Korean people. -0-
