Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- Women's union organizations at all levels in the DPRK have turned out as one in the patriotic work to improve the appearance of the mountains and rivers of the country.

This year, 80 women's union organizations have won the title of the Socialist Patriotic Forest and planted hundreds of thousands of saplings of good species in the forests assigned to them.

Women's union organizations in Jangjin County of South Hamgyong Province and Songphyong District of Chongjin City and Kyongwon County in North Hamgyong Province planted in the forests assigned to them tens of thousands of saplings, which they raised in their tree nurseries.

Women's union officials and members in Phyongsong-dong and Ori-dong in Phyongsong City of South Phyongan Province and Tongchang County in North Phyongan Province have won the title of the Socialist Patriotic Forest through their mass movement to increase the forest resources.

Women's union organizations in Sinwon County of South Hwanghae Province and Samjiyon City of Ryanggang Province have boosted the rate of rooting of saplings by conducting all the tree-planting processes, including pit digging and humus carpeting, as required by technical regulations while taking into account the biological characteristics of trees of different species and soil conditions.

Members of the women's union in Hwaphyong County of Jagang Province have installed fire-arresting structures and furnished enough fire-fighting equipment and cultivated the planted trees in a correct way by introducing scientific sapling tending methods.

Women's union members in Kallimgil-dong No. 2 of Mangyongdae District, Anjong-dong of Sunan District and Taeri Workers' District in Kangdong County in Pyongyang Municipality have prevented the damage from harmful insects by installing the insect monitoring posts and using highly efficient bio-insecticide. -0-
