Workers and Trade Union Members Visit Revolutionary Battle Site in Wonsan City

Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- Workers and trade union members in Kangwon Province of the DPRK made a study tour of the Ponghwajae Temporary Secret Base of the Wonsan City Revolutionary Battle Site on the occasion of the 94th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army.

Preserved at the Ponghwajae Temporary Secret Base was data on the struggle of members of a KPRA small-unit who aroused the regional people to the all-people resistance for national liberation, true to the Juche-oriented revolutionary line set forth by President Kim Il Sung at the historic Xiaohaerbaling Meeting in August 1940.

Being briefed on the revolutionary battle site, the visitors grasped the immortal exploits of the President, who led the anti-Japanese armed struggle to brilliant victory, and the essence of the idea and spirit run through the revolutionary traditions of Paektu, the eternal lifeline and precious eternal treasure of the Korean revolution.

Looking round the trees bearing slogans, they recollected the appearance of the fighters who wrote the first page of the Korean revolution at the cost of their blood, holding in high esteem the President as the centre of unity and leadership and waging the long bloody anti-Japanese struggle.

They held a meeting for hearing impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas, a contest of singing revolutionary songs and an oath-taking meeting at the revolutionary battle site. They expressed their will to learn after the fighting spirit of self-reliance displayed by the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners and thus fully demonstrate the indomitable spirit of the heroic working class in implementing the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea. -0-
