Pyongyang, June 6 (KCNA) -- Sonyon (children) tractors were donated with due ceremony in the front yard of the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace on June 5. All the members of the Korean Children's Union secured those tractors through the do-good-thing movement on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the KCU.
Present there were Ju Chang Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league, officials concerned, the participants in the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the KCU and schoolchildren in Pyongyang Municipality.
Paek Un Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, addressed the ceremony.
When the tractors bearing a KCU badge and the word "Sonyon" run on the socialist farm fields, they will greatly encourage the farmers who have turned out to implement the Party's decisions, he said.
A donation certificate was handed over to an agricultural official.
Then speeches were made.
At the end of the donation ceremony, the tractors left amid a send-off of schoolchildren. -0-
