Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The 6th Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) was held on October 6.

Attending it were members and alternate members of the GFTUK Central Committee.

Officials of the Central Committee and provincial, city and county committees of the GFTUK were present as observers.

The meeting focused on the matter for carrying through the important tasks set forth by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in his historic policy speech at the 7th Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK.

Pak In Chol, chairman of the GFTUK Central Committee, made a report there.

The reporter said that as the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clearly indicated the guidelines for bringing about a sharp upward turn in building the Korean-style socialism, our state and people could have the great action programme for vigorously advancing along the road of prosperity by dint of self-reliance, their own option.

He referred to the tasks for arousing the entire GFTUK to the struggle for opening up a new phase of the state development after analyzing the shortcomings revealed in the past work of the trade unions.

The meeting adopted a relevant resolution after studying its draft. -0-
