Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- The 14th National Cooking Competition took place in different parts of the DPRK on the occasion of the February holiday.
A competition was held at Hwasong Restaurant in Pyongyang, divided into sector of ministries and national agencies, the sector of the Guidance Bureau of Public Catering Service, the public catering sector, the sector of the external service and the sector of housewives. There took place a dishes exhibition and technical contest.
At the exhibition, Pyongyang Raengmyon (cold noodle), roasted rainbow-trout wrapped in tin foil and green tea presented by Okryu Restaurant, Pyongyang Hotel and the Moranbong District Restaurants Management Office took the spotlight.
Skills of cooks from Chongryu Restaurant and Taedonggang and Phyongchon district restaurants management offices and housewives revved up the atmosphere of the competition.
At the competitions held in North and South Phyongan, Jagang, Kangwon, South Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces and Rason and Kaesong municipalities, the participants presented dishes representing peculiarities of their regions and dishes conducive to the development of the country's food culture.
Diplomas, medals and certificates were awarded to the excellent organizations and cooks. -0-
