Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in the electric power industry of the DPRK have made remarkable successes this year.
The Pukchang Thermal Power Complex succeeded in the oxygen-dust anthracite ignition technology, which improved its performance, thus opening up a prospect for expanding and introducing it into all boilers. It also raised the power output of turbines and the combustion efficiency to boost the electricity production.
Workers and technicians of the Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant created tens of thousands of more kilowatts generating capacity and finished the overhaul of several turbogenerators before schedule.
The East Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant carried out its production plan by further boosting the steam production through rational updating of equipment.
Sodusu and Hochongang power stations improved the performance of water wheel blades and manufactured and introduced real-time water level measuring device to raise the efficiency of equipment and put the water control on a scientific basis of higher level.
The Kumyagang Army-People Power Station and the Huichon Power Station completed retaining wall construction at lower reaches of the dams by introducing advanced construction methods and laid a foundation for increased electricity production by enhancing the reservoir capacity.
Jangjingang, Pujongang, Namgang and Thaechon power stations finished flood gate repair and Suphung, Wiwon, Jangjagang and Taedonggang power stations made it sure that the flood control is put on a rapid, correct and scientific basis by introducing a flood-calculating program.
Provincial power transmission and distribution stations established a lightning protection system on major substations and transmission lines and substituted or newly installed breakers, disconnectors, insulators of various kinds, etc. while solving technical problems arising in further perfecting the national integrated power control system. -0-
