Spring Tree Planting Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- A brisk mass campaign for spring tree planting is being conducted in the DPRK.

Officials and working people across the country have planted more than 82 million trees since the spring tree planting began, true to the idea of the Workers' Party of Korea on turning the whole country into thick woodland and greenery.

The General Bureau of Forestry under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection and officials in the field of forestry worked out detailed daily and weekly plans to suit the characteristics of regions and species of trees, and have pushed ahead with the forest restoration in a scientific and far-sighted way.

Pyongyang City carried out its spring tree-planting plan, strictly observing the technical regulations in all tree-planting processes and providing good conditions for the growth of the planted trees.

South Hwanghae Province planted trees in an area of more than 7 000 hectares.

Kaesong and Nampho cities, too, prepared various species of saplings and good-quality humus and introduced advanced tree-planting method to complete their spring tree-planting plans in a short span of time. -0-
