Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- The General Federation of the Unions of Art and Literature of Korea marked its 80th founding anniversary.
On March 25, 1946, President Kim Il Sung saw to it that the GFUALK was founded. And he led it to fulfill its mission and role at every stage of the developing revolution.
Chairman Kim Jong Il provided an immortal programme for the building of the Juche-oriented art and literature with his rare wisdom and energetic leadership and ushered in a new era of renaissance in the 20th century.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clarified the basic principle to be adhered to in the building of the Juche-oriented art and literature, in his historic letter "Let Us Usher in a New Heyday of the Juche-oriented Art and Literature as Required by the Times and the Developing Revolution" to the Ninth National Conference of Artistes.
A commemorative meeting took place at the National Theatre on March 24.
Present there were Jang Ryong Sik, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials, creators, artistes, teachers, researchers, journalists and editors in the field of literature and arts.
