Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- The 2026 spring aesthetic symposium in the urban management sector took place at the Sci-Tech Complex via video conferencing on May 13.

Attending the symposium held on the theme of "Flowers and Creation of Landscape" were Kim Son Il, minister of Urban Management, and officials, scientists and technicians from relevant fields, including urban management, land and environment protection, design, construction and supervision in Pyongyang and provinces (municipalities).

Kim Phyong U, director of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee, and Ri Chol Jun, a researcher of the Kangdong Botanical Research Institute under the Central Botanical Garden made speeches.

Speakers referred to the fact that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, aware of the importance of flowers and the creation of landscape in improving the appearance of the country, made energetic efforts to bring about radical turn in this work.

They explained the ways for creating landscape in our own way and putting flower production on a scientific and industrialized basis in conformity with the daily-increasing level of cultural and emotional life of the people and the developing world trend.

At the symposium, the participants watched videos dealing with the "Flower Festival-2026" and advanced landscaping technology. -0-
