Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- The construction of 1 000 flats in Hamhung City began in South Hamgyong Province of the DPRK.

The provincial committee of the Workers' Party of Korea gave precedence to the provision of designs and materials, formed a powerful building force and aroused the enthusiasm of the masses through an exhibition of utensils and tools. It also conducted organizational and political work for strengthening the material and technical foundations of construction units.

Presented to the exhibition were various kinds of vehicles, equipment and building utensils and tools.

Officials of the provincial people's committee and the provincial rural economy committee provided various kinds of equipment, utensils, tools and accessories, and construction units in the province and the city prepared all kinds of equipment.

Complexes in the province completed the building preparations, and the provincial land and environmental conservation bureau, the provincial public prosecutors office and the provincial public security bureau secured the welding machines, vibrating compactors, etc.

The provincial communication management bureau, the Hamhung Youth Electric Appliances Plant and other units presented high-performance pumping machines, engine generators and other equipment and building utensils and tools to the exhibition.

Ri Jong Nam, chief secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the WPK, Pak Hyon Chol, chairman of the provincial people's committee, and officials concerned visited the exhibition hall on April 12 to discuss measures for increasing the proportion of construction done by machines and raising the level of specialization in construction.
