New School Year for 2023 Begins in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- A new school year for Juche 112 (2023) began in the DPRK with due ceremonies at schools across the country on April 1.

All the schools in the country, including Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1, Pyongyang Primary School for Orphans, Kim Song Ju Primary School, Pyongyang Primary School No. 4, Sinchon Junior Middle School in Yonthan County, Haeun Primary School in Haeju City and Yonggwang Primary School in Sariwon City, were crowded with schoolchildren and their parents and teaching staff.

Prior to each school-year opening meeting, there was a national flag raising ceremony.

Officials of Party and power organs and relevant institutions, teaching staff and schoolchildren congratulated the new enrollees, presenting bouquets to them.

At the meetings, speakers said that the bell of learning is ringing out all over the country more loudly under the loving care and benevolence of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who is glorifying the idea of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on the education of younger generation and their leadership exploits.

They expressed their determination to fulfill their duty as educators in giving full play to the advantages and vitality of the universal 12-year compulsory education by devoting themselves to education.

Schoolchildren made their minds to study hard for thriving Korea and prepare themselves as competent revolutionary talents, knowledgeable, virtuous and healthy, and true sons and daughters of the socialist country.

After the meetings, the first lesson in the new school year began.

The schoolchildren's reading and singing injected lively vigor and vitality into the country where a dynamic all-people grand advance toward a new horizon of national development is ongoing. -0-
