Pyongyang, June 6 (KCNA) -- Nampho Municipality of the DPRK directs its efforts to consolidating the material and technical foundations of raw materials bases.
After surveying non-cultivating land and low-yielding fields, the municipality turned more than 180 hectares of land into bases for producing raw materials this year alone. It has also taken steps to properly plant oil, sugar and aromatic crops, etc. and increase the per-hectare yields, while putting the production of raw materials on a more intensive basis through effective measures.
In order to boost production at the regional-industry factories, Onchon County provided a raw materials base station with farm machines and small and medium-sized farm implements.
Chollima and Kangso districts supplied cultivators, tractor parts and knapsack sprayers to the raw materials production units to contribute to increasing the proportion of the farm work done by machines.
Ryonggang and Taean districts planted rape in more fields than planned and Waudo and Hanggu districts turned tens of hectares of treeless zones into Evodia daniellii Benn forests and are now taking care of them in a scientific and technological way.
The municipality is building pumping stations in dozens of places and digging more water holes and tube wells. -0-
