Pyongyang, May 15 (KCNA) -- The 23rd May 21 Architectural Festival is under way at the Sci-Tech Complex in the DPRK.

At the festival held on the theme of "Comprehensive development of socialism to a higher stage and Juche-oriented architecture", visitors are greatly impressed by the rapid development of Juche-oriented architecture.

Under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, new streets boasting of modern architectural beauty have been built in Pyongyang every year, and dwelling houses peculiar to each region constructed in local areas, changing the appearance of the country from day to day.

In recent years, modern streets including Songhwa Street, Hwasong Street and the Pothonggang Riverside Terraced Residential District, and bases for cultural life have been built, adding to the grace and solemnity of Pyongyang.

Every street has symbolic buildings representing the overall architectural formation and ensured artistic mutuality, compatibility and connectivity in the formation of streets by diversifying architectural shapes and colors.

Cultured country towns and modern villages were built across the country, demonstrating the development of regional construction.

In particular, modern urban-style high- and low-storied buildings were built in Hadan-ri, Sinuiju City, North Phyongan Province, showing a new appearance of rural development.
