Pyongyang, March 13 (KCNA) -- March 14 is the tree-planting day in the DPRK.

Greeting the day, all the DPRK people are recollecting with humble reverence the immortal patriotic exploits and devoted efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who unfolded a grand plan for turning all mountains of the country into golden ones and has energetically led the campaign for carrying it into practice.

Kim Jong Un wisely led the work to increase forest resources, saying that forests are the most precious asset of the country, wealth to be handed down to posterity and an important means for protecting the land.

In November 2014, he visited the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection and clarified the tasks and ways for bringing about a great innovation in sapling production.

On February 26, 2015, he made public the classical work "Let the Entire Party, the Whole Army and All the People Conduct a Vigorous Forest Restoration Campaign to Cover the Mountains of the Country with Green Woods", thus providing guidelines to be adhered to in vigorously conducting the forest restoration work.

He took a measure to build the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery as a model and standard of tree nurseries in provinces and wisely led it. Thanks to his devoted efforts, modern tree nurseries sprang up one after another across the country to more confidently guarantee the success of forest restoration.

Revolutionary anecdotes telling about the immortal exploits he performed in raising the flames for the forest restoration campaign can be heard everywhere in the country.

Under his wise leadership, the nationwide campaign involving masses has been dynamically conducted. Thus, more than one million hectares of forests have been newly created and over 11 000 units have won the title of Socialist Patriotic Forest since the forest restoration was started. -0-
