Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- The workers of the North Phyongan Provincial Tideland Reclamation General Enterprise successfully completed the construction of the First District of Aedo Tideland.

A ring road was built along the sea dikes linking Sinbong-ri, Aedo-dong and Ilhae-ri in Jongju City, and thousands of hectares of tideland turned into arable land, thus changing the country's map and laying another foundation for developing the country's agriculture and improving the people's living standards.

There took place an inauguration ceremony of the First District of Aedo Tideland in North Phyongan Province on January 14.

Present there were Ri Chol Man, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, Kim Chol Sam, chief secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and officials and employees of the Tideland Reclamation Bureau and the North Phyongan Provincial Tideland Reclamation General Enterprise.

Ri Chol Man addressed the ceremony.

The speaker extended congratulations to all the builders and officials in the relevant sector who performed labour feats in reclaiming tideland by leveling the mountains and filling up sea with their spirit of devotedly implementing the Party's policies and with their stubborn fighting spirit.

The devoted efforts of the brave conquerors of the sea who successfully completed the construction of the First District of Aedo Tideland are fully demonstrating the indomitable spiritual strength of the DPRK people who are responding to the call of the Party only with devoted implementation and the advancing spirit of socialist Korea paving a broad avenue to prosperity, racing against time, he said.

He called upon all the officials and working people to turn out in the drive for attaining the goal of reclaiming 300 000 hectares of tideland, true to the ideas and leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, and to wage a more vigorous and courageous struggle to greet the glorious Party Congress with labour achievements.

So Won Gil, manager of the North Phyongan Provincial Tideland Reclamation General Enterprise, in his speech expressed the resolve to demonstrate the mettle of the Korean people in the struggle to translate the Party's grand nature-remaking plan into reality.

At the end of the ceremony the participants went round various places of the First District of Aedo Tideland. -0-
