Pyongyang, May 5 (KCNA) -- Industrial production in the DPRK has increased by 107 percent as compared with the same period of last year, amid the mass innovation movement for carrying out the first-year tasks of the new Five-Year Plan launched in all the economic sectors and units.

At the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clarified the fighting strategy in keeping with the strong spirit of advance and full confidence of our state and people and specified in detail the long-term goals for each sector to attain during the new Five-Year Plan and the tasks for their realization.

The workers of the Sangwon Cement Complex increased production by 107 percent on a daily average in March and carried out the high cement production plan in April, too.

The Sunchon Cement Complex produced 15 000 more tons of cement for two months and the Chonnaeri Cement Factory has over-fulfilled its daily quota.

The Taean Friendship Glass Factory carried out the production of sheet glass at 107 percent on a daily average by putting the supply of raw materials and operation of equipment on a scientific basis, ensuring the melting temperature and normalizing the operation of tin furnace and slow-cold furnace.
