Women's Union Officials Make Study Tour of Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt Paektu

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- Officials of the women's union from across the DPRK made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from December 6 to 12.

They toured the Paektusan Secret Camp, the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, the Chongbong Bivouac, the Konchang Bivouac, the Taehongdan Revolutionary Battle Site and the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site.

They laid bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in the revolutionary battle sites and Samjiyon City and paid tribute to them.

At the birthplace of Kim Jong Il in the Paektusan Secret Camp, they recollected his revolutionary career and exploits.

Going round the site of campfire, the site of cooking rice and trees bearing slogans, they learned about the revolutionary spirit and fighting spirit of the fighters who fought the bloody battles against the Japanese imperialists under the guidance of the President.

They marched to Mt Paektu, singing the song "We Will Go to Mt Paektu".

Officials of the women's union shouted hurrah at the top of Mt Paektu.

They held an oath-taking meeting at the plaza before the statue of Kim Jong Il in Samjiyon City.

During the study tour, they conducted colorful political and cultural works including a meeting to give impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas and a contest of singing revolutionary songs in chorus while marching in array and toured the Samjiyon Potato Farina Production Factory and the Samjiyon Blueberry Drink Factory. -0-
