Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- The people in the DPRK are significantly celebrating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army.

President Kim Il Sung advanced a line that the armed enemy should be defeated with arms, and founded the KPRA on April 25, 1932 on the basis of the political and military foundation laid for founding a revolutionary armed force.

The birth of the KPRA was a historic event that ushered in a new era of the Juche revolution relying on the powerful revolutionary armed forces. The significance of the event does not merely lie in the fact that the Korean people, who had been subject to miserable fate in the vicissitudes of history, came to have their genuine army and cherish the hope of independence, but rather in the fact that the Korean revolutionaries declared at home and abroad their firm anti-imperialist revolutionary idea to fight against those, who hurt the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean people, to the end by force of arms, and their will to achieve without fail the freedom and liberation of the country and the victory of the revolution with their own strength.

Today's development of our revolutionary armed forces under the leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un further highlights the historic significance of April 25.

Thanks to his military strategic ideology and commanding art, the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK are demonstrating their reputation and might as the most powerful elite forces, strong in idea and faith, which are carrying forward the sprit of Mt Paektu and the revolutionary traditions of Paektu, and firmly defending the prosperity of the country and the wellbeing and happiness of the people with arms. -0-
