New Species of Turf Produced

Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) -- Officials and researchers of the Pyongyang Turf Institute in the DPRK strive to breed new species of turf.

The institute registered a turf species, improved to suit the climatic and soil conditions of the country, as a national horticultural species, and conducted the work for breeding a new species of turf which is 40-50 days longer in greening period than ordinary Zoysia tenuifolia.

And it laid a foundation for revitalizing the turf production with organic fertilizer manufactured by itself.

It has also contributed to greening the areas of various objects under construction. -0-
