Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a birthday spread to Kim Tong Ok in Neighborhood Unit No. 3 of Hyokchang-ri, Kosan County of Kangwon Province, on her 100th birthday.

Upon receiving the spread amid the congratulations from officials of Kosan County and villagers, the centenarian expressed deep gratitude to Kim Jong Un for having shown loving care even for an ordinary old woman though he is so busy with all the state affairs.

Before the liberation of Korea, she was born into a servant's family and had been subjected to maltreatment and contempt. And after the liberation of the country, she made positive efforts for the building of a prosperous country with a resolve to repay the benevolence of the Workers' Party of Korea which provided her with a happy new life.

As an official of the women's union during the Fatherland Liberation War, she devoted her all to supporting the front and, after the war, worked in a responsible manner at her post and brought up her children well. -0-
