Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- Teachers and researchers in the educational sector of the DPRK are taking scientific steps after the in-depth study and discussion to successfully attain the goal of educational work set forth at the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Practical measures are taken to train a larger number of competent talents by implementing the second universal 12-year compulsory education programme and the education programme for subjects at universities from the new school year.
The issues arising in establishing a new teaching mode for the education of disabled children have been discussed to work out innovative proposals.
Efforts are directed to building up subdivided teaching and learning data at the state educational information system and finishing the preparations to run a tele-education system for the employees of regional-industry factories newly built in different parts of the country.
The general education sector has organized the work to set proper standards and goals for mastering foreign languages according to schools and grades, increase the variety of necessary teaching materials, write reference books for learning foreign languages easily and develop and introduce programs helpful to teaching and studying foreign languages.
Realistic steps are taken to further improve the qualification, ability and specialization of teachers and strengthen the educational foundation of the country by dispatching excellent educators in Pyongyang and cities to regions and countryside and organizing demonstration teachings in a planned way.
Also, measures are taken to improve the educational conditions and environment, give preferential treatment to the teachers throughout society and full display the traits of supporting the educational sector. -0-
