Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- The Forest Resource Conservation Institute under the Academy of Forest Science in the DPRK is striving to put the forest fire prevention on a higher scientific basis, according to Minju Joson.

Scientists of the institute have pushed ahead with the research to extract and use additive needed for vegetable agent helpful to forest fire extinguishment.

They are also conducting the research on the assessment of forest fire danger so as to ensure the accuracy of forest fire forecast.

They have stepped up the research to accurately assess the areas with risk of forest fire according to the natural and artificial factors influencing the occurrence of forest fire.

Meanwhile, they are carrying on the research to accurately predict the conditions of extinguishing of forest fire by taking into consideration various factors after the occurrence of forest fire. -0-
