Medical Assistance to Coal Mines

Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- Medical workers of the central-level hospitals in the DPRK is giving medical assistance to the coal mines in South Phyongan Province, according to Rodong Sinmun.

The field medical team, consisting of medical workers from central-level hospitals, set up treatment posts at the coal mines, including the February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine.

Its members are conducting health check-up of coal miners at the pit faces and taking timely measures for treating patients. At the same time, they are advising the coal miners of the necessary medical information, including seasonal health care methods, so that they can devote themselves to their work in good health.

They are devoting themselves to the health check-up and treatment of the coal miners' families and conducting technical lectures for improving the qualifications of local medical workers. -0-
