Provincial Groups of Party Members Leave for Rehabilitation Sites

Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held in South Phyongan, North and South Hwanghae, Jagang, Kangwon and North and South Hamgyong provinces and Nampho and Rason municipalities of the DPRK to launch the regional regiments of Party members, formed in response to the call of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea for dynamically stepping up the recovery from flood damage by concentrating all efforts.

Present there were the commanding officers and members of provincial regiments of Party members to be dispatched to the flood-hit areas, and officials of Party and power organs and industrial establishments and working people in those regions.

Reports were made at the meetings.

The reporters said that the campaign for repairing the flood damage is a grand offensive for defending the people planned by the firm will of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who regards it as the most urgent task to provide the people suffering misfortune with stable and happy cradle as early as possible.

They ardently called for successfully implementing the decision of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee to bring about a new turning phase in providing the people with happiness and highly civilized life in the northwestern part of the country and present a report of loyalty and victory to the General Secretary.

Oath-taking speeches were made at the meetings.

The speakers expressed their determination to successfully carry out the tasks given by the Party by giving complete facelift to the disaster areas, mindful that the ongoing recovery campaign is an important political struggle to defend the people's trust in the Party and glorify the advantages of Korean socialism.

The flags of the regiments of Party members were awarded to the commanding officers.

At the end of the meetings, the regiments marched through squares and streets in fine array, flying high their regimental flags.

Citizens handed over bouquets, garlands and letters to the members of the regiments.

Trains and buses carrying those members left for the recovery sites. -0-
