Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- Following are major news items and articles in leading newspapers of the DPRK on Friday:

- Jo Yong Won, chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, met the leading members of a delegation of Korean commercial workers in Japan.

- There took place a symposium of social scientists on the historic significance of the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and the First Session of the 15th Supreme People's Assembly.
