February 17 Shock Brigade of Scientists and Technicians Active in Various Economic Sectors

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The members of the February 17 Shock Brigade of Scientists and Technicians are playing active role in solving sci-tech problems arising in various sectors of the national economy. Among them are those dispatched to the non-permanent central committee for promoting Regional Development 20×10 Policy, the Ministry of Coal Industry, the tideland reclamation command team and the Tanchon Power Station Construction Division command team, according to Rodong Sinmun.

They manufactured soap packing equipment for daily necessities factories in local areas. And they are now exploring ways of producing comprehensive analytical equipment and various pumps by themselves.

They developed new efficient blasting methods for the coal mines, confirmed their scientific accuracy and effectiveness through the tests for their introduction, and improved the performance of hydraulic drilling machine in order to increase the tunneling speed.

They also developed a hardening agent with tideland soil to ensure safe running of vehicles and applied rational blasting methods to speed up the reclamation of tideland.

And they established integrated automation systems for several power plants and made successful trial runs. -0-
