Pyongyang, May 12 (KCNA) -- North Phyongan Province of the DPRK is conducting the project to restore and readjust the existing irrigation facilities and increase the area of irrigated fields.

The province built at least 40 pumping stations in rape fields and laid plastic pipelines extending tens of kilometers under the ground in the area of Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm.

Unsan County dug dozens of waterholes and Kusong City and Tongnim and Yomju counties secured electric motors and transformers while readjusting and repairing pumping equipment and groundwater facilities.

Several counties repaired reservoir banks and intake towers and, at the same time, cleaned waterways and overhauled relevant structures in a qualitative way to secure lots of water.

Working people of the relevant sectors are contributing to laying a foundation for the sustained and stable development of agricultural production by producing necessary equipment and materials. -0-
