Rice Transplanted in Most Paddies in Kaesong of DPRK

Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Farms in Kaesong Municipality of the DPRK has finished the rice-transplantation in most of paddies.

The municipal rural economy committee selected rice seeds suited to the regional specific conditions and set proper order of rice transplantation according to farm fields and species. It also gave the farms proactive sci-tech assistance so that they can reap a good rice harvest by transplanting in more paddies the rice seedlings raised at greenhouses.

The farms repaired and maintained farm machines and raised the operation rate of rice-transplanting machines to ensure the quality and speed of the work. They also raised healthy rice seedlings by properly sowing rice seeds in nurseries, ensuring proper temperature and humidity and applying nutrient solution.

They provided a guarantee for safe farming by a scientific farming method and carried out their plans at 120 percent as compared with the same period of last year.

Officials and working people in the municipality are now expanding their successes by boosting the rate of rooting of rice seedlings and tending early crops as required by the technical regulations. -0-
