Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- At least 90 cities and counties and more than 1 800 farms in the DPRK, including Mangyongdae District, Songnim City, the Songnam Farm in Rangnang District and the Chongsan Farm in Kangso District honoured with the best agricultural county and best farm last year, finished rice transplanting in the main areas.

Pyongyang Municipality took the lead in transplanting rice seedlings as it introduced the method of raising rice seedlings in greenhouses, a cost-saving, labor-saving and plot-saving farming method.

More than 90 farms in South Hwanghae Province finished rice transplanting in the main areas.

Officials and agricultural workers in South Phyongan Province registered high results in rice transplanting, and North Hwanghae Province and Nampho Municipality have planted rice seedlings in large areas every day by mobilizing all forces and means.

Officials and agricultural workers in North Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces are stepping up the rice transplantation while cultivating rice seedbeds in a scientific and technological way.

Many farms in Kangwon Province, North Hamgyong Province and Kaesong Municipality concluded rice transplanting in the main areas. -0-
