Pyongyang, March 21 (KCNA) -- It has been 45 years since the inauguration of the Changgwang Health Complex on the bank of the Pothong River in Pyongyang.

The complex making a practical contribution to the promotion of citizens' health and civilization is associated with the leadership of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

The Chairman personally appointed the site for the health complex on the bank of the picturesque Pothong River and meticulously guided the whole course of its construction.

He visited the construction site several times to indicate the way for increasing the accommodation capacity of the health complex. And he stressed that 100 percent of water should be replaced every day at the complex, saying there should be no 1 percent of used water left in it to be visited by the people. Under his loving care, the complex was successfully built into a comprehensive welfare service center with all necessary conditions in nine months after the start of its construction.

On March 21, 1980, he visited the completed Changgwang Health Complex and gave a precious instruction on ensuring its smooth management and service to make all the people enjoy themselves there.

Over the past years, the complex has conducted its kind service activities to make the visitors enjoy the socialist cultural and emotional life to the full, while steadily improving the service conditions and environment. Every day, it renders such services at a high level as swimming, bathing and hair-dressing to thousands of customers, including war veterans, disabled soldiers and labor innovators,.

In those days, the complex won the Order of National Flag First Class, the title of Twice Three-Revolution Red Flag and the title of Thrice "Lathe No.26" Model Machine Prize and produced many recipients of state commendations and honorary title holders including Merited Barber. -0-
