Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The Suyangsan General Foodstuff Factory in the DPRK was successfully updated.

Officials and working people in South Hwanghae Province turned the factory into a comprehensive foodstuff production base where the production lines have been put on a germ-free and dust-free basis. The factory has production rooms furnished with various equipment, sci-tech learning space, a technical preparation room, cultural and welfare establishments, etc.

The updating of the factory, which mass-produces more than ten kinds of foodstuffs including tasty and nutritious confectionery, drinks, nutritive foodstuffs for children and instant noodle, provides another firm material and technical foundation for improving the diet of the people in the province.

An inauguration ceremony took place on the spot on Wednesday.

Present there were Pak Thae Dok, chief secretary of the South Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials and employees of the factory and working people in Haeju City.

Kim Chol Bom, chairman of the provincial people's committee, made an inaugural address. -0-
