Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- The Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm is concentrating on the work to put vegetable production on a scientific, intensive and industrial basis of higher level.

The combined farm has steadily boosted its production in April, too.

The employees of hydroponic greenhouses at Hadan and Sangdan farms are increasing the production of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and other vegetable fruits by spraying nutrient solutions and controlling temperature and humidity in a scientific way after sowing complementary seedlings, nipping off extra sprouts and thinning out superfluous fruits.

The Soho Farm has transplanted vegetable seedlings in soil greenhouses and cultivated them in a responsible manner, thus producing lots of vegetables and supplying them to the public service amenities in Sinuiju City.

Meanwhile, researchers and farmers of the Sinuiju Vegetable Science Research Center have made successes in breeding new varieties including vegetable fruits and functional vegetables by dint of science and technology. -0-
